Clear information about using the Amharic Interpreter website, including website content, booking enquiries, external links, privacy and responsibilities.

About this website

This website is operated by Amharic Interpreter, a UK-based Amharic English interpreting service run by Kidest Beyene.

Amharic Interpreter provides face-to-face, telephone and video interpreting for healthcare, legal, public sector, education, business and conference settings.

By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

Information on this website

The content on this website, including service descriptions, FAQs, articles and other written material, is provided for general information only.

While I aim to keep the website accurate and up to date, the information on this website should not be treated as legal, medical, immigration, financial or professional advice.

Reading this website or sending an enquiry does not create a confirmed booking, contractual relationship or interpreter-client relationship unless and until an assignment has been agreed.

Booking enquiries

Booking enquiries made through this website are treated as the start of a conversation, not a confirmed booking.

An interpreting assignment is only confirmed once the date, time, location or remote method, language pair, assignment type, fee and any relevant terms have been agreed.

I may ask for additional information before confirming availability, including the nature of the assignment, location, expected duration, client or organisation details, preparation requirements and any relevant access or safeguarding considerations.

I reserve the right to decline an enquiry or assignment where I am unavailable, where the assignment falls outside my professional scope, where there is a conflict of interest, or where suitable terms cannot be agreed.

Fees, cancellations and changes

Fees, travel costs, cancellation terms and payment arrangements will be agreed before an interpreting assignment is confirmed.

If an appointment, meeting, interview, hearing, event or project changes after confirmation, please provide as much notice as possible.

Cancellation fees may apply where time has already been reserved, travel has been arranged, preparation has been completed, or short notice is given.

Any specific cancellation or payment terms agreed for an assignment will take priority over the general information on this website.

Professional conduct and confidentiality

Interpreting work is carried out with care, impartiality and respect for confidentiality.

Information shared in connection with an interpreting assignment is used only for the purpose of arranging, preparing for and delivering professional language support, unless there is a lawful, safeguarding, contractual or serious-risk reason to share it.

Confidentiality may be limited where disclosure is required by law, where there is a safeguarding concern, where there is a serious risk of harm, where a court or public authority lawfully requires information, or where sharing is necessary with the organisation that commissioned the assignment.

For more information about how personal information is handled, please see the Privacy Policy.

Accuracy of interpretation

I aim to provide accurate, clear and impartial Amharic English interpreting to support communication between the parties involved.

Interpreting depends on the information provided, the setting, sound quality, speaker clarity, preparation materials, time available and the behaviour of all participants.

Clients and organisations are responsible for ensuring that suitable arrangements are in place for the assignment, including appropriate timing, privacy, access, technology, participant details and any necessary preparation materials.
